ROLE: The HR Generalist is responsible for assisting the HR Manager with the functions of the HR Department, including recruiting, benefits administration, onboarding, performance evaluations, job descriptions, and maintaining employee records. In the role of Marketing Assistant, the person is responsible for assisting the Strategic Communications & Marketing Manager with the functions of the Marketing Department, including daily administrative tasks, updating spreadsheets, databases, and inventory of promotional items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Coordinates pre-employment and on-boarding efforts for new hires.
  2. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, and morale, and training and development.
  3. Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, unemployment, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
  4. Assist with employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as requested by the HR Manager.
  5. Assists with timely performance evaluations.
  6. Organizes and prepares requirements for lunch and learning sessions and other company seminars.
  7. Travel overnight to attend various recruiting and marketing events, representing the organization in a professional manner.
  8. Develop and maintain a strong presence on social media platforms to engage potential candidates.
  9. Leverage college platforms to establish connections and promote our recruitment initiatives.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, And TRAINING:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field required; SHRM-CP preferred.
  2. Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience.
  3. Excellent verbal/written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and people skills.
  4. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and meet deadlines.
  5. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality.
  6. Proficient with Microsoft Office, marketing software, online applications, and social media management.
  7. Thorough understanding of office management, marketing principles, and employment-related laws/regulations.
  8. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage travel logistics and adapt to changing schedules.
