Pettigrew & Associates, P.A. (registered with PRO-Net) offers design, construction, and land surveying. Our Professional Surveyors are licensed in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorada, Kansas, and Arizona. Pettigrew & Associates, P.A. is a full service survey company offering all of the following types of services:
The majority of our surveying work has been for the Systems Engineering Department of Southwestern Public Service Company and encompasses thousands of miles of Right of Way, Preliminary, and Construction layout surveys for power transmission lines. Other endeavors have included ground control for aerial photogrammetry at Tolk Station, a coal fired generation facility; boundary and highly detailed topographic mapping of six (6) power generation plant sites in west Texas and two (2) plant sites in southeastern New Mexico, (100 acres to 5000 acres each); a survey of approximately 150 sections of land for water rights acquisition and/or transfer; a survey for five (5) miles of railroad to Tolk Station; and multiple boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys for substation and interchange sites with access roads in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Also represented are design and construction surveys for major highways in New Mexico. Most recently completed in 2003 is a 354 mile power transmission line traversing 11 counties, four states, and five State Plane Coordinate system zones. We developed a horizontal and vertical control network with 13 working zones based on the State Plane System which produced a single contiguous project specific Coordinate system for design, land ties, and boundary and easement calculations in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado. This system maintained coordinate positional error to less than 0.15 feet in all locations across the entire 354 mile project. This 3.3 million dollar survey project spanned over a time period of approximately four (4) years, approximately $800,000/ year in addition to other ongoing work.
